PPE field day-concessions and drinks for sale at the cafe doors!!!

🎓✨ Yesterday was a special day at PPE as we welcomed back our graduating seniors for the Senior Walk! ✨🎓 Our Ponies lined the halls cheering on these amazing students as they walked through the place where their journey began. Seeing our former PPE students return in their caps and gowns was such a powerful reminder that hard work, perseverance, and dreams truly pay off! ❤️💙 We are SO proud of each and every senior and can’t wait to see the incredible things they accomplish next. Once a Pony, always a Pony! 🐴🎉 Congratulations, Class of 2026! Your PPE family is cheering you on every step of the way! ❤️🤍💙

✈️🌏 Day 2 of Teacher Appreciation Week took us all the way to China! 🐼🥡 A HUGE thank you to McDonald’s for providing breakfast for our amazing staff this morning, and to Panda Express for a delicious lunch! 🥢❤️ Our teachers were also treated to a fun pair of earrings from Simply Chic Boutique! Thank you to our families for all of the favorite drinks for your child's teacher! We are so thankful for the community partners who helped make today so special for our PPE staff! 🐴✨

Day 1 of Teacher Appreciation Week took us on a trip to Paris! ✨🇫🇷 Our staff enjoyed breakfast from Waffle House, a delicious lunch served by Open Roads, and caffeine and shopping from Simply Chic Boutique! ☕️🛍️ They also received sweet cards and notes from their students. We are so thankful for the businesses, parents, and community partners who helped make our teachers feel celebrated and loved today! ❤️💙

Keeping kids fed over the summer costs a pretty penny, but Bossier Schools is coming to the rescue with FREE, nutritious meal boxes – and there are no income restrictions!

Starting Tuesday, May 26, any child age 18 and under is eligible for nutritious meal boxes at four drive-through pickup sites: Benton Middle, W.T. Lewis Elementary, Haughton Middle and Parkway High.

Each box includes 7 shelf stable breakfasts & lunches (no refrigeration or heating needed)
This USDA Summer Food Service Program is completely FREE
Curbside pickups are from 7-11 a.m. every Tuesday, May 26-June 23 and July 7-July 28.

PPE Field Day Friday, May 15th!!!! Here are a few important things to know to help your child have a GREAT Field Day !!!
💧 Please send your child with water to stay hydrated. It will be HOT and students will be very active throughout the day.
🧺 Students are encouraged to bring a small towel to sit on outside during events.
✅ Attendance matters! Please make every effort for your child to be at school Friday since relay teams depend on all members being present.
☀️ Don’t forget sunscreen!
👟 Students should wear their Field Day shirt, athletic bottoms, and tennis shoes.

⏰ Schedule:
K–2 Field Day: 9:00–11:00
3–5 Field Day: 12:00–2:15

We will have porta potties set up, Snow cone truck, concessions, and a water table set up as well. We can’t wait for a FUN day at PPE! See the attached events and map for more information. You can check your child out with their teacher. The person checking out must be on the approved Oncourse list, and have their ID. Please remember that we cannot block the apartments or Eurlene Street.

Let’s keep the momentum going at PPE as we head into May and finish strong! 💪❤️💙 Next week, our 5th graders kick off LEAP testing! Please help us set them up for success by making sure they arrive to school by 8:10, get a good night’s sleep, and eat breakfast (either at home or arrive by 8:05 to eat at school). Encouragement from home goes a long way! Please remind them to take their time and do their very best each day! After our final week of LEAP testing, we’re excited to shift into a season of celebration. Teacher Appreciation Week, field day (May 15th, K-2: 9am-11am, 3-5: 12pm-2pm), and end-of-year awards, and graduations! 🎉 We are crushing our attendance goals, and we are so thankful for your partnership in helping us keep the momentum going through May 19th.
